Harvick would love a repeat of last week.

We’ve made it to the final race of the 2014 season and the Sprint Cup will be hoisted by either Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, or Ryan Newman. In the new playoff format, whichever driver makes it across the finish line first will be this year’s champion.

No pick last week as it was NASCAR’s All-Star weekend. 2 weeks ago in Kansas FOX was solid with a 2nd, 4th and 13th for a total of 19 points (One of the better efforts on the season for BLS). R-O took a 4th, 13th, and 23rd for 40 points (not going to win any prizes).

5-Hour Energy 400 (Kansas Speedway)

All BLS fans know by now that the FOX has resorted to just taking the top-3 qualifiers each week, or at least until he hits the 9 race limit for each driver. That policy nearly worked out well last week and this week he will have 3 heavy-hitters and not have to deal with a Brian Scott. At some point R-O is just going to have to throw in the towel on his weekly analysis as well, nothing seems to be working. Like FOX, R-O will take Logano based off recent form, and Keselowski based off past results at Kansas. His last pick is Clint Bowyer, who has 2 top-5’s and 5-top 10’s in his career at Kansas. Driving the 5-Hour Energy car in the 5-Hour Energy 400 also can’t hurt Clint’s karma today. Maybe our Busch Leaguers can avoid some accidents for once. Enjoy the race everybody.

FOX’s top 3 picks would’ve worked out great at Talladega had pole-sitter Brian Scott not petered out early. FOX wound up with 53 points even though he had 2 drivers in the top-10. R-O, on the other hand, had the 88 car and finished with 88 points. Can it get any worse for R-O? He’s trying to go back to back dead last finishes in the 30 person fantasy field.

TOYOTA OWNERS 400 (Richmond International Raceway)

Fox and R-O’s Nascar picks have been pretty bad so far this year. We at BLS attribute that to bad luck. We know they had the right guys tabbed for each track but somehow THE GOOD LORD had other ideas for their drivers each week. That’s ok, he’s got #BLSPicks’ back in MLB and NBA right now. Foxy has resorted to just taking the top 3 qualifiers at each track (not a bad strategy), while R-O still thinks he can pick a needle out of a haystack. After all, back-to-back dead last finishes in a 50 person fantasy field is a very prestigious accomplishment. Both our Busch Leaguers are behind our hometown rookie Kyle Larson, from Elk Grove (SACRAMENTO), as he’s on the pole because of the fastest lap he posted during practice as qualifying was rained out this week. Let’s get Kyle’s #42 Chevy to Victory Lane!!! Here are their picks:
